This winter a cross-section of the IU horn studio got together to perform at the Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. This was a wonderful experience as we got to bring our music to many that had never seen a horn choir before! We also befriended a former hornist that regaled us with many stories that had us in awe.
I could tell you how sight reading bass clef parts written an octave too high was a great reading challenge, or how we all took great leadership and performing opportunities, but bottom line, I was very happy to take a few minutes to spread what I love to others, and to just play music and have some fun! So this holiday season, remember that we love what we do, be thankful we have the opportunity to do it, and spread the joy to the friends and family around you! Happy Holidays everyone!
