![]() Hi all, sorry for the lack of posts lately, but life has been a little hectic finishing up courses and exams and setting up some very exciting opportunities for the Fall - stay tuned for updates soon! I also just got back from beautiful Sulmona, Italy where I participated once again in the COSI Opera Festival with the Aradia Ensemble. Our pint-sized orchestras of 10 and 16 players were led by Kevin Mallon and Les Dala, and we had a wonderful time performing Puccini's Suor Angelica and Mozart's Marriage of Figaro. While there are many great points to rave over (food, wine and scenery to name a few!), I was really inspired by the dedication of all the singers and musicians, and the product we were able to generate after just a few rehearsals. When I asked the others why they thought the quality of product was so high and why the atmostphere was so engaging and positive, the reply was simply "great music and great people." When we step back and look at why we are artists, it is because we can interact with others through our music and because we want to play and share these brilliant works with others. This was a refreshing and inspiring two weeks, and I was reminded that if we go back to why we started music in the first place, the experience and product will be increased and heightened tenfold! Thank you to everyone who played a part in such a great experience, and I look forward to continuing great friendships, stimulating conversations, crazy adventures and making beautiful music together once again!
